Does anyone have a problem with the 6CD changer in the trunk of the 7 series...i.e. excessive skipping when the unit gets hot.
On long trips in the summer I noticed the CD changer gets less tolerant of the minor scratches on a CD. When I first leave the house none of the CD's skip. By the time I get two hrs from home the same CD's that didn't skip before start skipping. It get's worse as I travel on so I end up having to switch to radio. I did not have this problem in the first two years of ownership.
I wonder if the Lens on the optical pickup is dirty (with a film from compartment outgassing) and requires cleaning. But how can one get in there to clean it and what will be required to do so.
